CCTV Operator Training


Level Two Award CCTV Operator

Security Personnel who carry out public space surveillance, whether is monitoring members of the public in public or private areas or using the cameras to view individuals will require by law to be trained in the use of CCTV and have a SIA CCTV licence.
The C.C.T.V course has 3 different modules listed below
Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry

  • Emergency Procedures

Unit 2: Working as a C.C.T.V Operator

  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Codes of Practice
  • Legislation
  • Characteristics of a CCTV System
  • CCTV Equipment
  • Control Room Communications
  • Emergency Procedures

Unit 3: Practical Operation of C.C.T.V Equipment

  • Carry out functional checks of a CCTV system
  • Explain equipment fault procedures
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of key pads, joy sticks to operate system
  • Demonstrate how to overcome poor lighting, bad weather
  • Produce images of sufficient quality for evidence
  • Record images onto storage media in an evidentially sound manner
  • Complete relevant documentation associated with an incident
